Collection & Part

Frameline 47’s Collection and Part functionality enables you to link media files together into groups using metadata.

Along with file keywords, Collection and Part is intended to be the primary method within the application for grouping video files. Because the files are grouped by metadata (descriptive data about the files) it does not matter where the actual video files are physically located on your system, you can access them all from Collections;

Not in a Collection/Part

New to Version 3.2 is a 'Not in Collection/Part' item under Collections. Clicking on this item will show all the files that are not in a Collection or not in a Part. This new functionality helps you to quickly identify which files are not currently assigned to Collections.

Content Organisation Hierarchy

With a TV series for example, you could equate ‘Collection’ to be the name of the show, and ‘Part’ as the name of the season, for example ‘Lost, Season One’. Together with Segments, Groups & Files, Collection & Part provide a complete hierarchy for organising video:

Collection
LOST
Part
Season Four
File
Episode 4
Group
Scene 12
Segment (Clip)
Shot 31

Annotation Interface Elements
