Consolidate
Looking for Consolidate Database ?
Consolidate enables an edited or re-ordered version of your video file to be created without the need for re-encoding and consequent quality loss. (See notes below). It is a special function that can be performed from either Edit or Notate windows. Consolidation is ideal for de-junking (removing unwanted video) tasks such as removing adverts from broadcast recordings, or for cleaning up raw footage to reduce disk space.
How to Consolidate
To Consolidate a file, you must first create some segments in Edit Mode. You will then need to mark some of these segments and either ‘Hide’ them or ‘Only' them (Shows only the marked segments) to create a new timeline. See Mark S.H.O. for more details. You are then ready to consolidate the file by choosing File/Consolidate from the menu:

To re-order a file using the consolidate command you need to be in Notate Mode, and re-order the segments of the file using the Alternate Order functionality.
Bulk Consolidation
If you wish to create multiple individual Files from Segments, you can use the Split Files Tool, which uses the same process as Consolidate.
Notes on Consolidation
Certain .mp4 video files (such as ones with .mp3 audio tracks) will not allow for loss-less consolidation. You will know if you try to consolidate one of these files as you will be presented with the video re-encode dialogue.
