HTML Export

To export a file to HTML, choose File / Export from the Menu in either the File, Edit or Notate Windows, then click on 'HTML'. This will bring up the HTML export dialogue.

There are two options in the export dialogue:

Unchecking 'Include Video' will make your HTML export consist of images and text only - this is useful if you are not the copyright holder.

Checking 'Enable Video Download' will create a link in the HTML pages which will enable users to download the source file.

Important Note on including Video

Version 3.0 will only allow MPEG4 Files with extensions .mp4 and .m4v to be published. (It is important to make sure that the Video File you choose to publish is of an appropriate size for playback over the internet).

If you have an unsupported codec such as DV, use the build-in Video Encoder to create a new MPEG4 File for publishing. When choosing HTML export, the application will automatically add 'hints' to the movie file, this processing enables segments to be jumped to and streamed over the internet.

Quicktime Streaming Server

Please note that individual segment playback will only stream correctly if the files generated by the export and placed on a server with Quicktime Streaming Server enabled (such as .Mac). if the files are not placed on a streaming server, then the playback will be via progressive download.

The HTML Pages

HTML Export generates a single folder with images, video, HTML & javascript code. Launch or link to the index page as a starting point.

There are three main HTML pages.

• A File Page

• A Group (Scene) Page

• A Segment (Shot) Page

Navigation

You can navigate between pages in a number of ways:

In list view, click on the segment or group name to navigate to the segment or group page:

In block view, a pop-up will appear when the mouse is over the segment or group image, click on the text to navigate to the segment or group page:

You can also navigate between pages by using the menu at the top of the window:

Video Playback

Click on a File, Group or Segment image to initiate video playback. If your video doesn't have video (because the video checkbox is unticked) clicking on the image poster frame will bring up a slide show of poster frame images.

View Options

There are also a four different views available, list, Block, Small and Large. To change the view of the pages, click on the controls at the top right of the HTML pages.

Poster Frame Images

You can change the Poster Frame Images from within the application. Please refer to the Poster Frame Image Page for more information.

Browser Compatability

Frameline HTML export is standards based, and will work fine on Firefox, Safari, but probably not Internet Explorer. With Firefox 3, the browser will not show HTML exported files on local drives due to a security measue. To enable viewing of desktop files in Firefox, launch the application, and type 'about:config' into the address bar. This will then bring up a big list of values. Scroll down to 'security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy', then double click on the item to change its value from 'true' to 'false'.
