List of Segments

The list is a vital component of the Notation interface. The list enables you to select segments & groups for navigation & notation.

The following diagram explains the elements that make up the list:

Alternate Order

Items in the list can be re-ordered by using the alternate order function. See Alternate Order for details.

Copy Annotation from One Segment to Another

To copy the content & Word Annotation from one segment or group to another, simply select a segment or group & copy - cmd + C, then select the segment or group you wish to paste the data onto and paste - cmd + V. If the target has metadata, a warning dialogue will appear.

Multiple Segment Annotation

To save time, you can tag up multiple segments or groups with content descriptions in the Notate Window.

Shift click in the Segment list to select multiple segments or groups, then click the 'Perform Multiple Segment Notation' button (this button will only appear once a multiple selection has been made). You will then see the content description pane with a dotted red line at the centre of the window. Select your notations, then click anywhere in the list area to either apply or release multiple notation.

You can also copy descriptions from one segment & paste onto one or more other segments, using the standard cmd + C, cmd + V controls.

Please note that you cannot current annotate multiple segments or groups with word annotation. This shortcoming will be addressed in a forthcoming update of the application.
