Mark, Show Hide Only

Segment marking is the method by which video is edited in Frameline. Marking segments is available in Edit & Notate windows.

Editing with 'Show, Hide, Only' in the Edit Window

In the Edit Timeline, select the segments that you wish to mark & click on the mark button. You will then have marked & un-marked segments on the timeline.

Clicking on the 'Hide' button to the right of the mark button will then hide all the marked segments from the timeline, therefore creating a timeline without the marked segments. Choosing Export from the Menu will then enable this new timeline to be exported.

You can also create a timeline the other way round, by clicking on the 'Only' button. This will then hide the un-marked segments from the timeline, therefore only showing the marked segments:

This technique would be used if you wanted to export a single segments from the timeline: You would mark the segment you wish to export, click on 'Only' & then choose export from the Menu. Clicking on 'Show' will return the timeline to show both marked and unmarked segments.

Editing with 'Show, Hide, Only' in the Notate Window

In the notate window there is no timeline to click on, but a list of segments & groups, each of which has a checkbox which is used to mark the segment or group:

Marking in Segment Filter

When you use the Filter in the Edit & Notate windows, the segments that match the chosen filter criteria will be marked, so to only see segments that match the filter criteria, you need to click on the 'Only' button to only see the filter results in the timeline.
