Upload

You can now upload files directly to YouTube from within the Frameline application. To upload a file to YouTube, first select a file from within the file window, then choose 'Upload/YouTube' from file actions or by selecting File/Upload/YouTube from the Menu.

Limitations and Image Quality

YouTube will only allow files of less that 10 minutes, and a file size of less than 100MB to be uploaded. If the file you have selected is outside of those parameters then the upload will not be able to proceed. If your file is less than 10 minutes long, but in an edit codec such as DV (and therefore over 100MB) re-encode the file to reduce the file size.

Accounts

Choose the account you wish to use with the account drop-down. If you have not yet set-up an account, click on the 'add' button, and add the appropriate details. If you do not have a YouTube account, you will need to visit YouTube and set one up.

Settings & Metadata

You are required to choose a category from the category drop down. Please note that this list loads from the internet, so it may take a few seconds before you are able view the options.

The title, description and keyword fields will automatically be filled with text from the corresponding file annotation fields if they have been completed.

Private

To allow your video to be viewable by anyone, keep 'Make this movie personal' unselected. If selected, your video will only be viewable by contacts you specify using your YouTube account. For information on how to specify who can view videos marked “Make this movie personal,” visit YouTube and click Help, type “Make video private” in the search field, and then click Search.

Removing a video from YouTube

To remove a video, visit YouTube, log into your account, locate the video you wish to delete, and click on the 'delete' video button.
